Our goal and our prayer is to be sharing Gospel truth - that every article is written in the hopes that the Gospel can be better portrayed in our hearts and in our community. That love, passion, logic, and facts can all be intertwined in the way God created it to be.
Instead of creating new words to describe The Platform's mission, we found these verses. May we continue to pray that each article would align with these verses.
Matthew 5:13-16 “13 You are the salt of the earth, but if salt has lost its taste, how shall its saltiness be restored? It is no longer good for anything except to be thrown out and trampled under people's feet. 14 You are the light of the world. A city set on a hill cannot be hidden. 15 Nor do people light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on a stand, and it gives light to all in the house. 16 In the same way, let your light shine before others, so that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father who is in heaven."
Hannah and I (Julia) wanted to shed some light on these subjects for ourselves. But as verse 15 says, Light is more effective on the stand that under a basket. May The Platform be a stand where God is glorified and light shines.
Ephesians 4:11-16 “11 And he gave the apostles, the prophets, the evangelists, the shepherds and teachers,12 to equip the saints for the work of ministry, for building up the body of Christ, 13 until we all attain to the unity of the faith and of the knowledge of the Son of God, to mature manhood, to the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ, 14 so that we may no longer be children, tossed to and fro by the waves and carried about by every wind of doctrine, by human cunning, by craftiness in deceitful schemes.15 Rather, speaking the truth in love, we are to grow up in every way into him who is the head, into Christ, 16 from whom the whole body, joined and held together by every joint with which it is equipped, when each part is working properly, makes the body grow so that it builds itself up in love.”
This is my favorite passage when trying to find our vision for The Platform. May The Platform be a place where all people and parts of the Church equip one another in all parts of ministry. May The Platform be a place where knowledge and unity are evident. May The Platform be a place where all can stand strong and sort through their own biases and perspectives and misunderstandings. May The Platform be a place where the truth is spoken in love and all are built up in love.
Ephesians 4:25 “Therefore, having put away falsehood, let each one of you speak the truth with his neighbor, for we are members one of another.”
May The Platform be a place that empowers us to speak truth with our neighbors - writers with editors, writers with writers, readers with writers, editor with editor.
Hebrews 13:16 "Do not neglect to do good and to share what you have, for such sacrifices are pleasing to God."
May The Platform be a place where we learn to do good and to share well. May its readers, writers, and editors feel the Spirit's empowerment to use this knowledge to go out and truly change the world.
1 Peter 3:13 "Now who is there to harm you if you are zealous for what is good?"
May The Platform be a place where those who are zealous to do the good of the Lord are honored and heard.
1 John 3:18 “Little children, let us not love in word or talk but in deed and in truth.”
May The Platform be a place where do not just talk, but we encourage one another towards truth and towards action.
3 John 3-4 “For I rejoiced greatly when the brothers came and testified to your truth, as indeed you are walking in the truth. I have no greater joy than to hear that my children are walking in the truth.”
May The Platform be a place where we walk in truth. May The Platform be a place where we celebrate with those who are seeking and walking in truth.
